Jordan Clarke reveals injury setback - and it's not good news for Scunthorpe

Iron defender Jordan Clarke has announced the extent of his hamstring injury via his Instagram account on Tuesday - and it's grim reading.

The right back pulled up after chasing down a Charlton attacker just over a week ago, and was on crutches immediately after the game.

After going to see a specialist today, he was told that the injury was severe enough to require surgery.

The length that Clarke will be missing for is not yet known, but it is likely to be several months before he can make a return to training.

Updating Iron fans from his Instagram account, Clarke said: "Not the news I wanted to hear.

"I have 2 separate tears in my hamstring and have damaged the tendon. One tear is 6cm the other approx. 7cm.

"It should be similar to the other side which is black, there is a lot of white because of the damaged that’s been caused and the bleeding of the muscle.

"I will be needing an operation after seeing the specialist yesterday its what best for it. Gutted is an understatement but life goes on and i'll still be right behind the Iron #uti."

We at Any Old Iron would like to send our best wishes to Jordan, and hope to see him back donning claret and blue sooner rather than later.
