Scunthorpe see £200,000 bid knocked back for Oldham defender

Scunthorpe have had a bid of £200,000 for Oldham Athletic centre half George Edmundson rejected, according to Sky Sports News.

It's clear the Iron are trying their hardest to bring in defenders early on in the window, with plenty of players' names already being thrown around.

Edmundson has played in all 26 of Oldham's Sky Bet League Two games so far this season.

United are not the only team interested, with Wigan, Fleetwood, Peterborough and Preston are all understood to be tracking the 21-year-old.

Whether Stuart McCall and Peter Swann see fit to make a second bid is yet unknown, but we will bring you any further updates when they are available.
