Freddie Ladapo a loan target for the Iron - reports

Scunthorpe United have entered the running to sign Crystal Palace forward, Freddie Ladapo, according to reports.

Ladapo spent the first half of 2016/17 on loan at Oldham Athletic, and scored one of his three goals for the Latics in a 2-0 victory over the Iron at Boundary Park.

The forward's loan ended on January 2nd, and he then made his move to Shrewsbury Town on January 5th for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old would score four times for the Shrews, including the match-winner at Glanford Park in Mid-February.

It's no secret that United have been on the look-out for a striker, after Kyle Wootton and Jonny Margetts both suffered injuries, leaving the club with only three recognised forwards.

The speculation arose this morning when Alan Nixon - a journalist known for getting rumours right - tweeted saying:

Scunthorpe in for Palace striker Freddy Ladapo. Loan. Been out before. Decent.
