Under 7s free for rest of season

In what will be a very welcoming move for all footballing families - Scunthorpe United have announced that for all its home games for the rest of the season, all Under 7s throughout the ground will be permitted free entry.

Giving that the cost of football has long been increasing for all families over the years: any move that makes it cheaper for them to attend, and attracting the next generation of supporters in the process - is a move to be celebrated.

This initiative by the club will kick into gear for the Iron's next home game in League One - which will be the clash at home to Graham Westley's Stevenage on Saturday January 21nd.

All those supporters have to do in order to claim the ticket will be to take the child round to the ticket office, and one will be printed for them free of price.

But do beware: proof of age for the child in question is likely to be required at the ticket office - although the hope is so, after it's been done the first time: the club's records will ensure that this is no longer required after this first time.

So let's celebrate this welcome boost, and hope that it might even add a fair few on to the gates and attendances in the future for the Iron. And starting in just under a fortnight's time at home.

Up the Iron!
